Designated Safeguarding Leads

Audience: Specifically for PVI Practitioners (Day Nurseries and Preschools) who are NEW to the DSL role.

Aim: 

This course will support practitioners understanding of: 

  • Child protection law and legislation 

  • Signs/indicators 

  • Early intervention and prevention 

  • Making referrals, record keeping and action planning 

  • Safer working practices for staff 

  • Maintaining a culture of vigilance 

  • The EYFS Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements 

Course length/sessions:  1 x 3 hours 15 minutes 

Cost: £30 for City PVI Settings

          £40 for Out of City PVI Settings

Venue: Nottingham Nursery School

This course is specifically tailored to support practitioners new to the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead or practitioners who are being developed to take on the role. 

Course Pre-requisites:

 Delegates are required to familiarise themselves with the Safeguarding and Promoting Children's Welfare requirements and their settings Safeguarding policy prior to attendance. Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements are part of the Early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory framework - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
