Introduction to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Audience: All Practitioners working with children within PVI or Out of School clubs, who do not currently have a SENCO Role, but would like to increase their knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Aim:
- To understand what Special Education Needs and Disabilities are and what our responsibilities are under the SEND Code of Practice
- To explore how we can work with parents, SENCO’s and other professionals to support children with SEND
- To extend our knowledge and understanding of Autism, Sensory impairments, Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy and gain practical ideas to support children's learning and development
Course length: 2 Hours
Cost: £35 for City Providers,
£45 for Out of City Providers
Venue: Online via Microsoft Teams
This course will explore the roles and responsibilities of those working with children with SEND, look how we can support each other, parents and work with other agencies to ensure a joint approach to supporting children’s needs and explore practical ideas to promote equality and inclusion.
