Prevent Duty
Audience: Specifically for Nottingham City PVI practitioners (Day Nurseries, Preschools and Childminders)
Aim: This briefing will provide practitioners with an understanding of the Prevent Duty and fundamental British values supporting mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs.
Course length/sessions: 1 x 1.5hrs

Since July 2015 all registered early years' childcare providers and registered OOSCs have been subject to a duty under section 26 of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015. This duty is known as the Prevent Duty and requires providers to have:
“Due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism”.
