Following the recommendations in the 'Best Start in Life' document produced by OFSTED, and in line with recent changes to the Early Years Inspection feedback, this training has been designed to explore and develop provision for this unique age.

With this documentation in mind, and in response to sector needs, we have developed this two-part training programme to specifically support and extend the knowledge and understanding of practitioners working with the children in pre-school/F1.

This training will be delivered through a mixture of theory and practical activities which aim to put a spotlight on provision for all of those involved in this unique age group of children and provides an opportunity to reflect on current lifestyle challenges faced.

Key themes explored through the sessions include;

  • Developing knowledge and understanding of the prime areas
  • Exploring opportunities to develop specific learning
  • Early maths and phonics
  • Early support strategies and interventions
  • Effective environments and appropriate interactions
  • Preparing children for 'Starting Reception'

Delegates need to attend both sessions.
