This course ensures that people who have previously attended training specific to their role are updated on safeguarding children's issues, including changes in national context and local policies and procedures. Guidance on best practice will also be explored.
Course Pre-requisites: Delegates are required to familiarise themselves with the Safeguarding and Promoting Children’s Welfare requirements and their setting’s Safeguarding Policy prior to attending the training. Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements are part of the Early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory framework - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
In response to feedback we have extended these sessions to 2 hours to negate any extra work outside the session.
Achieving your certificate: Full participation throughout the course will support you to achieve your certificate of attendance which will be issued by the trainers after the course.
EYFS states training must be renewed every two years. Providers may consider whether any staff need to undertake annual refresher training during any two-year period to help maintain basic skills and keep up to date with any changes to safeguarding procedures or because of any safeguarding concerns that occur in the setting
